Tahanto Regional is one of the smallest schools in central Massachusetts. With this small population, it comes with no surprise that students can be left with little to no global experience and knowledge of the world outside of a middle-class American town. This is exactly the reason why Tahanto developed the Global Studies Program with a Global Distinction incentive. As a member, I was able to take globally focussed classes, participate in clubs such as Amnesty International, Model United Nations, and Global Citizenship Club, and build academic and extracurricular portfolios with a global project to finish the program. With my portfolio approved, I can receive a distinction on my diploma. This not only sets a strong and competitive foundation, I will take in a valuable education that I can apply to all aspects in life outside of school an in the future.
