Our Mascot Staggy Gives Advice On How To Stay Occupied While Staying Home

During these times of staying at home, it’s impossible not to go a little bit crazy. So, our mascot Staggy is here to show you how to enjoy yourself and keep occupied while social distancing and staying safe at home.

1. Read!

Don’t we all have those books piled up on our shelves that we always say we will read, but never do? There sometimes just isn't enough time to. Well, now is the best time to wipe the dust off those old books and open a new story! So pick up Harry Potter or The Hunger Games and get started!

2. FaceTime or call a friend or family member.

Just because we are stuck at home doesn't mean we can’t see our friends. If you are ever feeling lonely or bored at home, just call your friends on apps like FaceTime, Skype or Google Hangouts and I’m sure they will be happy to see you as well. Being stuck at home also means we can’t visit our loved ones, but you can still grab your phone and dial the number of your grandma, grandpa, aunts or uncles, or your close friends. You can still be there even when you’re not.

3. Bake

Baking is the perfect activity to get your mind off of things, and let's be honest, there's nothing like fresh baked goods to lift your spirits. Whether you bake with your parents, siblings, or by yourself, this is a fun activity to cure your boredom, and it’s very rewarding, for you get a tasty treat when you are done!

4. Play a board game

Monopoly, Uno, Scrabble, or Clue. No matter what game you play, you are guaranteed a fun time! Pull up a chair and roll the dice. Enjoy a fun family game night!

I know things are a little upside down right now, and everyone is still adjusting to all this change, but I hope these activities will help you enjoy the time at home, even if things are different then usual. Is this different? Yes. Can we handle it? Yes! Tahanto is a strong community and I know that we will all stay strong through these tough times. We got this.
